The third Bright Days Festival is being held in Bright this weekend and hopes to raise more funds for children’s charities; Sudden Unexplained Death in Children (SUDS) and DEBRA (foundation for Epidermalysis Bullosa). Check out the Bright Days Website for more information.  http://www.brighterdays.org.au/

It kicks off with the Cottonball Run starting in Whittlesea on Friday, open to all cars and bikes it will travel to Bright and arrive late in the afternoon.  Then on Saturday we are treated to an extra Make It, Bake It, Grow It Market, the Copper Card Poker Run and then followed with a Free Concert on the River starting at 12 noon.  It doesn’t end there Sunday will see the Show n Shine, The Amazing Chase (open to children and families to enter with great prizes on offer).  There is also the Brighter Day Babes brunch are the Bright Brewery and then another free concert on stage out the front of The Alpine Hotel. Phew.

Our very own Jason Reid is the Vice-President of Brighter Days, “The main focus of the weekend is that while the aim is to raise funds for charities, the event is free for everyone to come along and enjoy.  It’s not very often that you can rock up with a foldout chair or a picnic rug in such a magnificent environment as our soundshell down by the Ovens River or in the main street on Sunday for the street party and listen to this calibre of entertainment for no cost.”  Well said Jason, we can’t wait.
